Traffic Stop at a York Gas Station Leads to Seizure of Multiple Drugs

YORK, NE – A traffic stop at a Petro gas station in York earlier this week lead to the seizure of multiple pounds of marijuana and other drugs.

On Tuesday, April 16th, a Deputy with the York County Sheriff’s office conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F-150 in the parking lot of the Petro gas station south of I-80 for a traffic violation.

According to a York County Sheriff’s news release, during the traffic stop, the Deputy developed probable cause to search the vehicle. Approximately 45 lbs. of marijuana, 1 lb. of methamphetamine, and 1 oz of cocaine were located inside the vehicle.

Driver, Apolinar Cruz Sanchez, and the passenger, Elvira Garcia Sanchez, both of Salinas, California were arrested for possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, no drug tax stamp, possession of marijuana more than one pound.
