The case of an Ogallala teen accused in a deadly crash west of North Platte last
month has been bound over to district court.

According to Lincoln County court records, Addison Malone, 18, waived her preliminary hearing earlier this week.

A judge then bound her case over to district court, where she’ll be arraigned on
charges of Felony Motor Vehicle Homicide and Minor in Possession at a later date.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says on the morning of July 18, 2024, deputies
were dispatched to a single vehicle crash several miles west of North Platte.

When they arrived, they found two occupants in a vehicle that had struck a tree.

Investigators believe Malone was driving the vehicle and may have been confused
as to what road she was driving on, and did not realize she was on a dead end
street.

They say she failed to see the warning signs and hit a large tree, head on, at a high
rate of speed.

Malone was seriously hurt in the crash, while her passenger, 18-year-old Nathaniel
Sandoval of Ogallala, was deceased.
