Kearney-Kearney native Bailee Sterling and the UNK volleyball team continue to improve as the season wears on. The Lopers are ranked 7th in this week’s D2 top 25 rankings. Sterling put up big numbers for the Lopers last week in wins at home against Newman and UCO. Sterling was named the MIAA offensive player of the week for her efforts which included a career high 20 kills last Saturday. KRVN’s Jayson Jorgensen spoke with her about how this season is developing.
Last season Sterling was named 2nd team All MIAA. This season she is hitting at a 400 average, she has 111 kills and leads the team with 33 blocks. The Lopers play at Missouri Western on Friday and then have a big match at Central Missouri on Saturday.
