LINCOLN – The Sumner-Eddyville-Miller boys basketball team took fourth place at the state tournament after falling to Wynot 71-47 Saturday in the Class D2 third place game.

SEM hit a couple early three pointers to jump in front, but Wynot quickly responded as the Blue Devils took a double digit lead by the end of the first quarter.

The Blue Devils would keep the Mustangs at bay the rest of the afternoon as SEM was plagued by turnovers and Wynot controlled the boards.

Jace Rosentreader paced SEM with 19 points while Chance Daake and Colt Schroeder each scored seven.

Dylan Heine led Wynot with 18 points and Zack Foxhoven added 15.

SEM finishes the season with a record of 18-9.
