Lincoln, Neb. — The statewide ballot for the upcoming primary election has been certified according to the Nebraska Secretary of State’s Office.

Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Evnen certified the statewide ballot ahead of schedule. Nebraska law requires that items on the statewide ballot be certified at least 50 days before the primary election, which takes place on May 14.

“We are certifying the entire ballot ahead of schedule,” Evnen said. “This allows county election offices to finalize their own preparations.”

County clerks in Nebraska are required to publish a notice of election at least 42 days prior to the election.
