Kearney, Neb. — The University of Nebraska Board of Regents on Friday approved a two-year pilot program to allow alcohol sales for men’s and women’s basketball games starting this season at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Regent Jim Pillen asked a question prior to the vote…

“(The) University of Nebraska Omaha campus, we’ve had alcohol at Baxter Arena for hockey games, men’s and women’s basketball and also baseball and softball…so has there been any adverse outcomes, public safety issues…because we’ve got that experience for a number of years just so everyone is in the loop on that?”

UNO Chancellor Joanne Li responded to Regent Pillen…

The regents also approved a new multimedia rights deal for broadcasting rights of UNL sports and approved taking steps toward renovating Memorial Stadium which will include hiring a project manager to develop a plan over the next year.
