RAVENNA – The Ravenna football team scored early and often Friday to shoot past Elm Creek 62-39.

Elm Creek opened the game with a solid drive leading to a five yard touchdown pass from Kole Stiner to Kolten Keim to take an early lead.

Ravenna responded quickly though, as Grady Rasmussen took the first play from scrimmage for a 74-yard touchdown.

The Blue Jays then capitalized on a string of Elm Creek mistakes, recovering the ensuing kickoff to set up a short field and a Gavin Reisbeck touchdown run.

The next two Elm Creek possessions resulted in turnovers and Ravenna took a 32-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.

Rasmussen led the Blue Jays with 165 yards rushing and two touchdowns, as well as a kickoff return for a touchdown. Reisbeck ran for 117 yards and two scores.

Stiner completed 9-of-19 passes for Elm Creek for 160 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions. Kolten Keim had three catches for three touchdowns.

Ravenna will go on the road next week to visit Hi-Line while Elm Creek will have its home opener against Overton.
