Pursuit suspect arrested over the weekend in Franklin Co.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a pursuit suspect over the weekend. It started around 10:00pm Saturday night as the Sheriff’s Department was alerted to watch for a Dodge Charger departing southbound from Minden at a high rate of speed. Sheriff Bryon Detelefsen says a deputy observed the vehicle about 15 minutes later. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued.

The suspect vehicle was temporarily able to elude Deputies but, was later located and the driver was taken into custody. He was identified as 24-year-old Austin Arens of Pender, Nebraska who was driving a 2020 Dodge Charger. Arens was booked into the Franklin County Jail and has since bonded out. The Franklin County Attorney is preparing charges.
