Dawson County, Neb. — A power outage reported at 4:45 p.m. Thursday impacting Johnson Lake, Elwood and the Smithfield areas was resolved last night.

Dawson Public Power District dispatched crews to fix a broken conductor wire that was damaged by the wind. Crews were able to restore Johnson Lake and Smithfield at about 6:20 p.m.

Work continued for Elwood and a switching order as well as material was needed. The switching order was a prerequisite to send power down the line to Elwood. Dawson uses this as a normal process of restoring power and assures that all the linemen are safe and that the grid works as expected.

Dawson Public Power reported at 9:00 p.m. that power was restored to all customers.
If you experience an outage report it to DPPD at (308) 324-2386.
