The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a fatality accident on Interstate 80 at mile marker 334 or two miles east of the Aurora interchange.
Sheriff Jeromy McCoy says it occurred about 8:24pm Wednesday as an eastbound straight truck on the Interstate crossed the median striking a westbound semi.
The straight truck immediately caught fire and blocked both westbound lanes.
The driver of the straight truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are working to identify the driver.
The driver of the westbound semi was not injured. Nebraska State Patrol and Aurora Police Department assisted with crash investigation and traffic control.
