Arrests made in Dundy County drug case

Haigler, Neb. — Two persons named on arrest warrants for drug-related charges have been taken into custody.

According to the Dundy County Sheriff’s Office, 68-year old Louis Cox was arrested Thursday by the Wray, Colorado Police Department.

Co-defendant, 68 year old Diana Thomas was arrested Friday morning by the Dundy County Sheriff’s Office.

Louis Cox is charged with 8 total counts, including Possession With Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of a Playground and Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person, while Thomas faces seven total charges, including two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of a Playground.

According to Dundy County Sheriff Ryan King, deputies served a search warrant at two homes on South Porter Avenue in Haigler on August 12.

At Cox’s home, deputies seized 36 items, including around three ounces of methamphetamine, cash, a digital scale, three rifles, and a walking cane containing a sword.

Records say at Thomas’s home, 23 items were found, including 60 blue fentanyl pills, a needle with methamphetamine residue, and a digital scale.

Both of their homes are within 400 feet of Haigler’s city park.

The sheriff’s office says Cox’s bond was set at $250,000, while Thomas’s bond was set at $100,000.
