NWS: No significant damage from Tuesday tornado in Loup County

NORTH PLATTE – The National Weather Service in North Platte says there was no significant damage from a tornado that touched down in Loup County on Tuesday.

A survey team determined the twister was an EF-0 with peak winds estimated at about 80 miles per hour.

The tornado touched down at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday a short distance east of the Blaine County line. The tornado had a maximum width of about 50 yards and traveled east southeast for 7.5 miles before lifting.

The path was entirely over pasture and range land with some broken tree limbs being the only damage of note.
