Northeast Nebraska Farmer Battles Dry Harvest Conditions | Fridays in the Field
October 4th, 2024 | RRN Staff

Dave Oligmueller of Pilger, Nebraska, is one of many farmers in northeast Nebraska being cognizant of dry conditions and looming fire hazards.

With 75% of his crop harvested, he and his crew are approaching the tail end of harvest with a water trailer on standby.

Oligmueller says his late soybean and corn crops are outperforming his early crops. He attributes this to “plenty of moisture” received by the region in the spring. Thankfully, Oligmueller was able to avoid major storm damage and very minimal insect concerns.
