Kearney-A safety deep in the four quarter registered by north defensive lineman Will Hubert of Papillion LaVista was the difference as the north held off the south 17-15 on Saturday night in the 64th annual Shrine Bowl. Hubert sacked south quarterback JaReese Lott-Buzby of Lincoln high with just over four minutes remaining to provide the winning score. The two teams combined for 30 points in the second quarter as the game was tied at 15 at half.

Grand Island’s Kytan Fyfe hooked up with Fremont’s Drew Sellon on a 47 yard td pass and Central City’s Kale Jensen hit Dylan Mostek of Bennington with the north’s other score. The south scored on touchdown passes of four yards and 18 yards when Lott-Buzby hit Westside’s Grant Guyett with scoring tosses. Mostek ended up with 29 carries for 156 yards.
