North Platte police investigating shooting, one arrest

The North Platte Police Department has made one arrest in a shooting reported around 10:30pm Tuesday night in the 1100 Block of Rodeo Road in North Platte.   Gunshots were reported in the area but, there was no one there on officer's arrival.   A few hours later they made contact with male subject who had been brought into Great Plains Health with a a gunshot wound to his leg that was not considered to be life threatening.  


Security footage at the scene led to the development of 30-year-old Eduardo Gomez as a suspect in the shooting and that an altercation took place before shots were fired.  Gomez was located and taken into custody on suspicion of 1st Degree Assault, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony and Terroristic Threats.  A search of his vehicle led to the recovery of a firearm along with other evidence.   The investigation is ongoing.
