Cozad-Veteran coach Tim Negley has been hired as the first head coach of the Cozad girls wrestling program. Cozad Community Schools is pleased to announce Coach Negley comes to Cozad after spending ten years at Gothenburg. Prior to his years at Gothenburg, Negley spent five years as the head coach at McPherson County High School and eight years at Lincoln Christian High School.
He’s had a hand in starting wrestling programs at both McPherson County (boys) and Gothenburg (girls). Coach Negley has led and coached 82 state qualifiers, 26 medalists, 6 finalists and 3 state champions. Negley is excited about to get things rolling with the Haymakers. “I am excited for this new opportunity in a community that has a rich wrestling tradition and look forward with anticipation to helping build a championship caliber program that not only helps young ladies grow into champions on the mat but in life as well.”
