A love for trees and demand knocking on their front door was the start of Luthy’s Tree Farm near Aurora, NE.

Greg Luthy explained the importance of bringing trees to the Midwest and what varieties he provides for his customers in the latest episode of Fridays in the Field.

Unlike some regions in the state, the moisture from continuous rainfall is a welcome sight to Luthy for not only his corn crop but also for the potted trees he sells.

“We were extremely dry… we’ve actually picked up now since April 25 or so about 8 inches [of rain] normally that would be too much but this year as dry as it was it was nice,” he said.

Luthy also gives key insight into his planting progress and a more in-depth look at their nursery tree operation.
