Gothenburg hosted the annual Nebraska junior high track and field meet on Saturday. Bryson Neels of Gothenburg had a big day as he won the 800 and 1600 meter runs and also won the long jump. He was named the male athlete of the meet. Gothenburg’s 4×400 meter relay team also was first. North Platte’s boys won the 4×800 meter relay. The Swedes won the team title with 67.5 points. Columbus was second with 40.

Mannox Martin of Ravenna was first in the shot and discus events. Bo Wells of Ord won the Pole Vault. For the girls area winners included Aspen Billeter of Southwest high school in the high jump and Kaitlyn Staehr of Aurora in the triple jump.
