The USDA is partnering with farmers and businesses, including three in Nebraska, to expand access to clean energy and lower energy bills through the Rural Energy for America Program.

Marx Land & Livestock Inc. in Rushville will receive just shy of $9,000 to help install a 190 kilowatt (kW) solar array. The project annually will generate 100 percent of the company’s energy use.

Kimberly Marcy and Marcy Cattle Company in Hay Springs will receive a combined $19,000 to be used to install four solar stock wells.

In total, USDA is investing in projects in 29 States.
