Lincoln, Neb. — Five candidates for U.S. President, along with their respective vice-presidential candidates, will be listed on Nebraska’s November general election ballot.

Secretary of State Bob Evnen announced the candidates and their running mates this week as his office works to finalize the candidates and ballot measures that will appear on the November ballot. The certification deadline is Friday, Sept. 13.

The candidates are Republican Donald Trump with running mate JD Vance; Democrat Kamala Harris with Tim Walz; Libertarian Chase Oliver with Mike ter Maat; Legal Marijuana NOW Party’s Cornel West and Melina Abdullah; and Jill Stein, by petition, with Sam Kpadenou.

Secretary Evnen says the candidates have either been nominated by their respective party or have completed statewide petitions to appear on the ballot.

A couple of petition candidates won’t be on the ballot. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. successfully petitioned onto the ballot, but on September 9, 2024, he withdrew his name from consideration.

Shiva Ayyadurai collected enough signatures to appear on the ballot; however, his filing was rejected because he is undisputedly not a natural-born citizen – a requirement to be President of the U.S. under the Constitution.
