Monday night fire destroys two homes in Holdrege
Two mobile homes were a “total loss” after Monday night’s fire.

Holdrege, Neb. – The Holdrege Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department responded to a house fire at Dewayne’s Trailer Court on Monday night around 10:10 pm. A pair of mobile homes were destroyed and another sustained smoke damage at the 500 Lincoln St. trailer park in Holdrege.

Lots 36, 37, and 38 were all damaged by the fire with 36 and 37 determined to be total losses. There were two residents inside the home on Lot 37 when it caught fire, but they were able to get out unharmed. The home on Lot 36 was vacant. The Red Cross was contacted to help find shelter for the two who were displaced.

Funk and Loomis volunteer squads were also called to assist. Black Hills Energy and the City of Holdrege were able to cut off gas and electricity. The Nebraska State Fire Marshal is currently investigating the incident, and no cause has been released as of yet.

No injuries were reported.

The two occupants of this home were able to get out safely and unharmed.
