LEXINGTON – After battling through a tough first set, Lexington put the match away in the next two sets sweeping Cozad 25-13, 25-6, 25-8 Tuesday night.
Cozad made it tough for Lexington in the first set by defending well against the Minutemaid attack. However, the second and third sets Lexington dominated and frustrated the Haymakers. Numerous errors in the final two sets would doom Cozad.
Lexington was led by Cordelia Harbison’s’ 10 kills and two ace serves. Taylor Woehrle chipped in eight kills and three aces. Liah Haines finished with five ace serves and Reese Kuecker contributed with four kills. Cozad was led by Megan Dyer who finished with four kills.
The Minutemaids improve to 2-0 and have yet to lose a set this season. They will host Holdrege and Minden in a triangular Thursday. Cozad falls to 0-2 and hasn’t won a set this year. The Haymakers welcome Southern Valley Thursday.
