Des Moines-Ben McCollum is taking over the Drake University basketball men’s program. The Northwest coach and 4X National champion is getting his chance at the Division I level. McCollum an Iowa native led Northwest Missouri State to four Division II national championships and a 394-91 overall record.
In the last several years, McCollum was a candidate for other D! jobs across the country. He replaces Darian DeVries who left for the open position at West Virginia. “I am honored to be a part of the Drake basketball family,” McCollum said in a press release from Drake following the announcement.
