Lincoln, Neb. — The bust of Malcolm X, the 27th member of Nebraska Hall of Fame, has been installed upon its limestone base with the official bronze plaque announcing his membership and contribution to society.

The bust on its pedestal joins other members of the Hall of Fame in the Nebraska Capitol Rotunda’s courtyard galleries.

The Hall of Fame is open to visitors during the Capitol’s regular pubic hours.

Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little in Omaha in 1925. His family fled Omaha in 1926 due to racial persecution.

The Omaha based Malcolm X Memorial Foundation is working to preserve the legacy of Malcolm X at his birth site in Omaha. Malcolm X was inducted into the Nebraska Hall of Fame on May 23, 2024.
