Kearney- McCook native Hunter Hays has picked up a nice preseason honor this summer. The Loper offensive lineman has been named the best guard in Division Two Football by the CFBNetwork. Hays has been in a mainstay in the Loper offensive line the last two years. Last season the 6’3, 315 pounder picked up honorable mention All American honors and was also named first team All MIAA after helping the Lopers to an eight win season. Hays will be a graduate student this season as he completes his fourth year as a loper. UNK will kickoff the season under new head coach Ryan Held on August 31st at Central Oklahoma. All of the Loper games can be heard again this season on 93.1 KRVN FM, 106.9 FM in Kearney and on the River App or at krvn.com.
