Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney football team will scrimmage the Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) Golden Bears on Saturday, April 13, in Council Bluffs, Ia.

The event, held at Lewis Central High School, will be free and open to the public. The scrimmage will begin at 3 p.m. with the format determined closer to game-day.

In the spring of 2021, Division II schools were allowed spring scrimmages as a “COVID exception”. The Lopers faced Wayne State that spring with legislation passing in January 2023 allowing these exhibitions to take place every year as part of spring ball (15 practices over 30 days).

CSP is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conf. (NSIC) and posted a 3-8 record in 2023. UNK and the Golden Bears have never met on the gridiron.

The Blue & Gold is currently going through winter workouts with spring ball slated to begin on Tuesday, March 19, and right after UNK’s spring break.
