KEARNEY – The UNK football team is fully in swing for spring ball as they prepare for the upcoming season which is the second under head coach Ryan Held.

Coach Held gives his thoughts on how the scrimmage went.

With this being Held’s second year at the helm, this spring has looked better than last spring.

The practice featured high winds today, gusts nearing 50 miles per hour. Coach Held said it’s good to get that experience working with the wind.

Isaiah Harris was one of the big standouts today for the Lopers. He transferred in from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and talks about how things have been going and how Kearney has been different so far.

Senior defensive linemen Quillan Felton is back for another season with UNK, and he helped the defense make multiple red zone stops throughout the scrimmage. He talks about their ability inside the 20-yard line.

The Lopers have six practices left in spring ball, including a scrimmage on April 13th against Concordia-St. Paul and their annual spring game on April 19th at 6 p.m.
