HARTINGTON – After winning the opening game of the Class C State Legion Baseball Tournament, the Loomis junior legion baseball team dropped two straight games and saw their season end earlier today in an 11-3 loss to Hartington.

Loomis got down early 2-0 and then fell behind 5-1 after four and a half innings. However, Loomis fought back and scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it a two run ball game headed into the sixth. Hartington then would explode offensively with six runs in the top of the frame to pull away and end up beating Loomis 11-3 in six innings. Hartington sent 11 runners to the plate in the top of the sixth and took advantage of four free passes and an error for the big inning. Loomis walked seven total batters, hit two batters, and committed two errors in the game.

Loomis finishes an incredible season at 19-4-1 and 1-2 at the State Tournament. The two losses for Loomis in the postseason were the only two losses they had to other junior teams this season.
