Loomis drops state game to Pender

Hartington-A tough night on defense led to a 7-0 loss for Loomis at the Class C State Baseball tournament on Sunday night to Pender. Loomis committed six errors in the game as they lost to another Junior team for the first time this season.

Pender scored two runs in the 2nd, three in the third and two more in the 7th. Loomis managed just four hits in the game. Caden Swanson had two of Loomis’ hits on the day. Ben Trompke took the loss on the mound as he went three innings giving up five hits, and five runs. All of those runs were unearned while he struck out four. Loomis who is now 19-3-1 will look to stay alive with an elimination game at 1pm vs Hartington.
