Seward County Sheriff’s Office reports what they believe, could possibly be the biggest methamphetamine bust in Nebraska.

A deputy with the Seward County Interdiction Task Force initiated a traffic stop of a Toyota Highlander last Thursday, April 25, 2024 on Interstate 80.

During the traffic stop, the deputy became increasingly suspicious that the driver, the sole occupant, was involved in criminal activity. A K9 was deployed for an exterior sniff of the SUV. As a result, a probable cause search of the SUV was conducted.

During a search of the vehicle, the deputy located a trash bag and three (3) totes that contained a controlled substance. Further investigation determined the controlled substance to be crystal
methamphetamine with a total weight of 200 pounds. The approximate street value is over $7.2 million.

Sergio D. Jaimezazueta, 44, of Stockton, CA, was taken into custody without incident as a result of the traffic stop. He was then turned over to federal authorities for possible prosecution.
