Kearney Police Officer graduates from FBI National Academy

Kearney, Neb. — Lieutenant Gabe Kowalek with the Kearney Police Department recently graduated from the 290th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Chief of Police Bryan Waugh says, “Lieutenant Kowalek is just the 6th member of the Kearney Police Department to attend and graduate from the FBI National Academy, continuing a long-standing tradition of leadership development and education at KPD.

We appreciate the great partnership we enjoy with FBI Omaha and are thankful for the opportunity to send our leaders to this esteemed leadership experience. I’m extremely proud of Lieutenant Kowalek and I’m certain he will benefit from this training as will those he leads.”

Lieutenant Kowalek is a twenty-two-year veteran with the Kearney Police Department. His current assignment is the Special Services Unit/Criminal Investigations Bureau Commander.
