Law enforcement conducted a search of an area in Buffalo County Monday evening for a suspect wanted on a Buffalo County Felony Child Abuse arrest warrant.
Shortly before 5:00pm Monday(September 11th) Buffalo County Sheriff’s deputies received a report from a citizen of a possible sighting of Jacob Ellingson, a fugitive from justice wanted for two counts of felony child abuse.
The sighting was in the area of 145th and Riverdale Road.
Deputies with the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office along with assistance from the Kearney Police
Department and the Nebraska State Patrol set up a perimeter and began a search.
Assets utilized by those searching included UAV drones from both BCSO and KPD, Kearney Police service K-9’s, FLIR and thermal imaging cameras, and the Nebraska State Patrol Air Wing helicopter.
The search continued into the night and was unsuccessful in locating Ellingson. The public is encouraged to report any possible sightings of Ellingson to the numbers listed below.
