KEARNEY, NE – LyonHeart Equine Assisted Learning, a Kearney non-profit, will host their annual fundraiser Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the new Gail & Michael Yanney Pavilion & Courtyard at 2:00 pm in Kearney.

The fundraiser event will be a relaxing afternoon with coffee, hot chocolate, a variety of hand-crafted sweet treats, and good, old fashion country conversations. LyonHeart will also have a brief presentation about how their horses are making huge impacts through their equine-assisted children and youth programs.

Donations will be accepted at this event and attendees will have an opportunity to partner with LyonHeart by sponsoring programs or one of their horses.

LyonHeart Executive Director Nancy Lyon explains how proceeds from events like this are used.

To learn more about their fundraiser go to lyonheartequinelearning.org. RSVPs are appreciated but not required.

Along with their fundraiser this weekend, LyonHeart will be raffling off a 2023 Red Roan AQHA Filly during the Cattlemen’s Classic in Kearney at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds at 4pm on Thursday, February 22, 2024. LyonHeart staff will be at the Classic both Wednesday and Thursday with the filly. Raffle tickets are $50 each and can be purchased on site or online on their website.

The filly was born June 3, 2023 and was donated to LyonHeart by Chris & Penny Sock of Broken Bow, Nebraska.

ABOUT: LyonHeart Equine Assisted Learning partners horses and youth in strategic learning opportunities which empower youth to overcome social, emotional, behavioral & educational challenges. Horses connect with participants in a way that builds confidence, leading to a positive mindset and incredible outcomes. LyonHeart is a non-riding facility. All equine-assisted activities are completed on the ground. This allows the relationship to develop as a partnership rather than the person attempting to establish control on the back of a horse. Facilitators are trained educators and volunteers who ensure safety of youth and horses.
