GOTHENBURG – From the very beginning Hwy 6 dominated Gothenburg enroute to a 16-0 win in three innings on Thursday night. Addison Klabunde took the win holding the Swedes hitless on the evening. In fact, she only faced nine batters on the evening and struck out four.
It started early for the Trailblazers as they scored eight runs in their half of the first inning, Beyonka Garcia, Trinity Carr, Lakyn Lewis and Klabunde each getting base hits and RBIs. Alexa Hale had a nice night for Hwy 6 scoring three runs while going 1-1.
Gothenburg held the Trailblazers scoreless in the second inning with some good defense but were unable to use the momentum to get any offense going. Hwy 6 capitalized in the third inning scoring eight more runs, when the Swedes failed to score in their half of the inning and the game ended.
Briony Aden took the loss in the circle. With the loss Gothenburg falls to 6-13, Hwy 6 improves to 9-11.
