HOLDREGE – The Holdrege Area Public Library and the Board of Trustees notified the public on Wednesday that they are restarting the new library building initiative.

The new library building would be built to deal with increased attendance at recent events and to support the needs of the city and county. The building would provide adequate space, resources, and facilities. The Board of Trustees of the Holdrege Area Public Library believes that a new library building will better serve our community and support the educational and cultural growth of our city.

The board is currently looking at two potential options for the new building. The first is at the current location of 604 East Avenue and expanding to the lot directly to the north which is 610 East Avenue. The second would be the west portion at the old Franklin school lot, which is at Logan Avenue between 10th and 11th Avenues.

The Library Board is making this new building a priority, and encourages the public to address any questions or concerns with the Board. You can shoot an email at , go to a library board meeting which is generally the first Tuesday of the month at 4 PM, write a letter to the board, or ask the staff at the library who will forward your questions to the board.
