Haymakers win fourth in a row

Cozad-Cozad’s improved season continued on Monday night, with a 25-22, 25-18, 25-15 win over Elm Creek. The first set was tight with Cozad pulling it out at the end. In the second set, the Haymakers took control with a 9-0 run. In the third set, Cozad used a five point spurt to take a 5-2 lead and then expanded it to 10-2.

Freshman Emerson Propp had a had a big night with 17 kills for the Haymakers. Fellow middle Braelyn Malcom had nine kills and two blocks as Cozad won its fourth in a row. The Haymakers are now 9-18 on the season. Elm Creek who dropped to 12-14 was led by Ashley Bauer who had eight kills and a block. Hallie Knapp and Chelsea Kottich each had seven kills for the Buffaloes.
