Gothenburg Police Department arrested a 64-year-old Gothenburg man Tuesday on suspicion of 2nd Degree Domestic Assault. Law enforcement was called to a Gothenburg residence around 8:30 pm Tuesday. A woman had sustained head injuries from kitchen objects bring thrown. The woman was transported to Gothenburg Health for treatment by Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department. The suspect indicated that as he came into the house he observed some items on a countertop and lost his temper, according to a police report.
Thomas Long was arraigned in Dawson County Court Wednesday where bond was set at 10% of $10,000. His next court hearing was set for December 27, 2022 at 11:00am. Second Degree Domestic Assault is a Class IIIA Felony and carries a maximum penalty of three years imprisonment and two years post-release supervision.
