Residents of Gothenburg no longer need boil their water. The City of Gothenburg implemented a boil water order on August 16, after testing revealed the presence of E. coli.

City officials think the contamination occurred during the installation of a new water pipe.

On Friday they announced the latest tests show no coliform bacteria and the order to boil water has been lifted.
