Four killed Sunday morning in one-vehicle crash

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Police Department is investigating a tragic early morning single-vehicle crash which left four males deceased.

At 12:14 a.m. Sunday, the Grand Island Fire Department, Hall County Emergency Management Services and GIPD dispatched to the intersection of S. Locust St. and Stagecoach.

Preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was driving northbound on South Locust Street at a high rate of speed when it crossed over into the southbound lanes and struck a tree on the west side of the roadway. The collision happened in the 2600 block of S. Locust.

One male occupant of the vehicle was ejected, and three other male occupants remained trapped inside the vehicle. All four occupants were deceased at the scene upon arrival.

The victims were identified as:

  *   Daniel White Face – 23 years old – Gordon, NE
  *   Atreya Thorsen – 19 years old – Gordon, NE
  *   Juan Ramos – 22 years old – Grand Island, NE
  *   Alexander Ramos American Horse – 18 years old – Grand Island, NE

Next of kin has been notified. South Locust Street remained closed until 5:45 a.m. Sunday. The investigation remains ongoing with members of the GIPD Accident Reconstruction Team working to reconstruct the accident and to help identify the driver of the vehicle. GIPD Officers were assisted by GIFD, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Island Streets Department, Grand Island Utilities Department and the Hall County Attorney’s Office.
