Phelps Memorial Health Center says they will be conducting a first responder training at the Veterans Memorial Park in Holdrege on Friday, August 16 from 10:00pm-12:30am.
In a social media post, Phelps Memorial says Fire and Rescue squads from Holdrege and several area communities, Holdrege Police Department, the NE State Patrol and helicopter services will be participating in the training event.
The scenario of this year’s training is a night search and rescue in response to a tornado. There will be multiple volunteers acting as victims from the disaster and numerous first responders, drones, and helicopters on-site.
Phelps Memorial advises for people to not be alarmed if they notice extensive EMS, Fire & Rescue, and police presence in the community Friday evening.
