On Wednesday, the Lexington, Nebraska Police Department announced that Captain Phil Lauby and Officer Brylee Lauby were honored with the AED Lifesaver Award from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services’ Emergency Health Systems division. The announcement says the recognition “is a testament to their quick thinking, bravery, and dedication to saving lives”.
Cap. Lauby says Lexington Police units are equipped with AED’s through a grant from DHHS. Cap. Lauby says it stems from a medical emergency on June 17, 2023 at a Lexington motel. The officers performed CPR on a subject and used the AED in an attempt to save the subject’s life. Officer Brylee Lauby is the daughter of Captain Phil Lauby.
