The Seward County Sheriff’s Office reports one fatality in a multi-vehicle crash on Eastbound Interstate 80 about two miles west of the Seward interchange. It occurred around 6:15am on Wednesday September 11, 2024.
The preliminary investigation revealed a tractor-trailer (vehicle 1) traveling eastbound collided with the rear of another tractor-trailer (vehicle 2) that was also traveling eastbound.
The driver and sole occupant of the first semi Suny Rattu, 34, Lincoln, CA was pronounced deceased on
scene.
The operator and sole occupant of the second semi as transported to Seward Memorial with minor injuries.
Seward Fire and Rescue, Seward Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, and Nebraska Department of Transportation assisted on scene.
The accident continues to be investigated by the Seward County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol.
