The Supreme Court struck down Chevron deference, which is good news for American farmers and ranchers. Travis Cushman, deputy general counsel for the American Farm Bureau Federation, says the most important takeaway from the case is a restored balance of power at the federal level…

He says this decision sets a new legal precedent for a broad swath of government agency regulations…

Cushman says AFBF has been involved in this case for many years…

AFBF President Zippy Duvall, “Farm Bureau applauds the U.S. Supreme Court for recognizing the damage Chevron deference has caused to the federal government’s balance of power,” Duvall said in a statement. “AFBF has been a leading voice on this issue and has argued on behalf of farmers who are caught in a regulatory back and forth when administrations change the rules based on political priorities instead of relying on the legislative process. We are pleased the Court heard those concerns.”
