NORTH PLATTE – The National Weather Service in North Platte says an EF-2 tornado touched down in Custer County as part of Friday’s severe storms.
A survey team determined that the twister formed at about 6:19 p.m. 10.7 miles northeast of Arnold near Eureka Valley Road. It traveled southeast on a path about 1.8 miles long and 50 yards wide.
Winds were estimated at about 120 mph based on damage to a row of powerlines and an irrigation system. Damage was also reported to a single family home.
