A 27-year-old Cozad man was ordered to serve from 20 to 21 years in prison Friday following his conviction of Ist Degree Sexual Assault. David Wisecup pled “no contest” in Dawson County District Court to the charge in January. Wisecup was originally charged with 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child for an incident around June 5, 2023.
Information on the case has been sealed by the Court but, the victim was under 16-years-of-age at the time. District Judge Patrick Heng gave Wisecup credit for 269 days already served since his arrest. He was also ordered to complete paperwork under the Sex Offender Registration Act.
