BROKEN BOW – Rilee Daffer of Broken Bow says she “took a leap of faith” when she applied to be the new Executive Director of the Custer County Foundation.

The Foundation’s board announced Thursday that it had chosen Daffer to take over the position.

Daffer said she learned a bit about the Foundation through her involvement with groups such as the Broken Bow Parent Teacher Association and decided she wanted to be a part of the work the group does in the community.

She said she’s most excited about the opportunities the Foundation provides and the chance to learn more about the communities of Custer County.

Daffer has spent the past ten years teaching at North Park Elementary. She said it wasn’t an easy decision to make a career change.

She said she hopes to bring some new ideas to the Foundation.

Daffer will begin her new duties at the end of May. She expressed her gratitude to Office Assistant Lisa Bell for keeping everything on track at the Foundation while Daffer finishes the school year.
