Custer County Foundation announces spring grant recipients

BROKEN BOW – The Custer County Foundation says it has awarded a total of $49,600 in grants to 14 organizations for the application period that ended April 30.

“It’s always an exciting time when we get to announce our grant recipients,” Executive Director Rilee Daffer said. “The generous support we receive from our donors, through our annual Gala and Auction in December, enables the Foundation to continue to have a county-wide impact through the grants we are able to award.”

The grants that were awarded were:

  • 4 County Indians Club Volleyball Team – $1,000: To purchase lightweight volleyballs for youth volleyball clinics.
  • Anselmo-Merna Public School – $3,000: To help with workout room enhancements.
  • Ansley Public School – $6,000: To help with track upgrade project.
  • Ansley Rural Fire Protection District #1 – $4,200: To aid with replacing outdated protective gear.
  • Arnold Area Historical Society – $12,000: To purchase trusses for a new roof.
  • Broken Bow Legion Baseball/DYO – $3,500: To purchase concrete for the dugout.
  • Broken Bow Swim Club – $500: To buy training equipment for youth.
  • Callaway Public School – $6,000: To purchase a shot clock.
  • Custer County Children’s Theater Association – $2,000: To aid with funding for the fall production.
  • Finch Memorial Library – $4,000: To help with replacing storm windows.
  • Sandhills Community Collaborative – $2,900: To aid with financial literacy and tenant education classes.
  • Sargent Fair & Chokecherry Jamboree – $1,500: To help with activities for the Sargent Fair.
  • Spartan Foundation – $1,000: To help purchase StoryWalks, Exercise & Nature activities.
  • Wild Rose Gallery – $2,000: To bring a National Art Speaker to art classes.

The next grant application period ends October 31. Applications may be accessed online at CusterCountyFoundation.org.
