Crews spent the weekend working to restore power in Howard and Greeley Counties after Friday’s tornadoes downed power lines and snapped power poles.

Howard Greeley Rural Public Power District said that it hooked up a generator to its substation near Wolbach Friday evening while repairs were being done.

Saturday morning the district said it had 91 meters without power, most of them irrigation. That was down from more than 2,000 outages shortly after the storms moved through. Most of the remaining customers had their power restored over the weekend.

Loup Valleys Rural Public Power District, Southern Public Power District and NPPD provided mutual aid to help with repairs.

NPPD said one of its transmission lines had broken poles between Albion and Spalding but it did not have any large retail customers outages.
