OMAHA, Neb. — Five Bluejays finished in double figures as No. 12 Creighton led wire-to-wire in the 85-64 win over Seton Hall on Wednesday, February 28.

The victory pushed the Bluejays to 21-8 on the season and 12-6 in BIG EAST action, while Seton Hall dropped to 18-10 overall and 11-6 in conference action.

Leading 14-11 with just under 10 minutes remaining, reserve Isaac Traudt gave Creighton a lift with back-to-back treys to ignite an 11-0 run and push the Jays advantage out to 25-11 (7:03). After the Pirates closed within single digits (25-16) with 5:44 left in the opening half, the Bluejays plundered the Pirates with a 13-2 surge. Creighton’s scoring wave got started with another pair of three-pointers, this time coming from Baylor Scheierman to hold a 38-18 edge. At the half the Bluejays held a 38-22 lead.

Early in the second half Creighton put the game away with a final scoring run, extending their advantage to 55-28 (14:51) with 10 straight points. This time the run was bookended by treys from Steven Ashworth and Scheierman.

Ryan Kalkbrenner led all scorers with 23 points, while Scheierman delivered 20 points. Trey Alexander finished with 15 points and a career-high 10 assists. Traudt and Ashworth rounded out Creighton’s quintet in double-figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.

Seton Hall got a game-high 18 points from Dre Davis, while Kadary Richmond and Al-Amire Dawes notched 15 and 13 points in the loss.

The Bluejays remain home for senior day against No. 5 Marquette on Saturday, March 2 at 1:30 p.m. (CT).
