Colorado men arrested on burglary & attempted fuel theft charges

Palisade, Neb. — Two Colorado men face charges after they were detained and arrested by the Hitchcock County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, Sept. 14, in conjunction with the investigation of a burglary and attempted fuel theft at Happy’s Feed Store & Coffee Shop in Palisade, Nebraska.

The Sheriff’s Office responded after being contacted about suspicious activity at the fuel store. The two, 38-year-old Geisel R. Machado and 35-year-old Geomar G. Hernandez, both from the Denver area, made their first court appearance on Tuesday in Hitchcock County Court.

A preliminary hearing for both cases is set for Oct. 4, at 12:30 p.m., in the Red Willow County Courtroom, McCook, Nebraska.

Geisel Machado has been charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Geomar Hernandez has been charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Chase County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the investigation. The two men are being held at the Hitchcock County Jail in Trenton.
